My Passion & Curiosity Project
|
When I began this project, the first question that stood out to me was 'How do I demonstrate my passion and curiosity? How do I inspire passion and curiosity in my learners?'. I found this question deeply intriguing because I realized that a lot of the time I get so caught up in my day to day responsibilities that I constrain myself to a routine and fail to utilize creativity.
Thinking about myself in the context of education, I am very curious about student led classrooms. I love the idea of students getting autonomy to choose learning tasks or learn by discovery, similar to some Montessori schools. While I wish my own classroom could adopt some of these practices, I often find it difficult to overcome the constraints and barriers of being a public school teacher. With this in mind, I decided to create my passion and curiosity project around this. I imagined what barriers I feel trapped behind, and what it could look like it I were to 'break the frame' and be free! I envisioned a space where learners are more engaged and intrinsically motivated, and where I feel free to be creative and curious myself!
